FUNDRAISER and CELEBRATION of John Drost

If you are local to Albany, NY and out and about listening to live music in the capital district, chances are that you know who John Drost is. He is that handsome guy with the frosty hair playing the fiddle, the accordion, the clarinet, the guitar, the keys and singing great songs. He’s sat in with The Nellies, The Hill Hollow Band, Kevin Maul and Peter Bearup, the Albany Fiddle Tour, The Doornails, Holly & Evan – just to name a few. John has had some recent health issues, so we have planned a big ol’ party to raise some money to help John out with some of his expenses. The Nellies, along with John’s current band, The Legendary Characters, John’s former band, Out of the Blues and contra dance leader extraordinaire, Paul Rosenberg, will host a benefit at Jose Malone’s in Troy. Jose Malone’s just opened up a brand new dance room adjacent to the bar – this is where we’ll host the benefit. Agenda for the day: 4:00 – Legendary Characters 4:45 – Dance (Virginia reel or two) led by Paul Rosenberg 5:30 – Out of the Blues 6:30 – The Nellies Donations will be collected throughout the evening.
