The Nellies are delighted to be making their debut at the locally famous Rye Bread Festival. The Nellies will feature Karen Ann on guitar, Peggy Lecuyer on mandolin, the amazing Gene Lemme on the bass, Mike McMann on guitar with special guest Kyle Esposito trading guitar leads with Mike (something to behold, I promise).
This is a grassroots festival that has been going on for many, many years. The venue is known as “The Barn” because of the large red barn on site. The crowd is said to be a bunch of old hippies who love music, as well as the friendly group of bikers, who operate The Barn.
The music schedule for July 11 is as follows:
12 noon – The Bob Barker Band
2 pm – The Bear Bones Project w/ KM
4 pm – Soul Sky
6 pm – The Nellies
8 pm - Half-Step
10 pm – Dr. Jah and the Love Prophets
12 midnight – Knot Dead (in the Barn)
DIRECTIONS: From Schuylerville, head north on Route 4 for a few miles until you come to Glen Road, on the right. There may or may not be a cardboard “Rye” sign at that turn. Glen Road is a dirt road; it’s not too far on Glen Rd until you reach the driveway for the barn, on the right, which will likely have a “Rye” sign directing you into the venue. A friendly person collecting money ($20) will approach your car.
